From One Mom to Another: Lanae’s Guide To NYC Resources

I wanted to share some of the sites/resources that my family and I have benefited from.

  1. Mommy Poppins is a site where I find free daily activities and things to do with my children. They offer an array of resources for families in the various boroughs as well as surrounding states.
    1. Location: All over the city! This is a virtual resource.
  2. The Isaacs Center: My daughter and I have volunteered at this center serving meals to the Seniors through NYCares. They have great training and employment opportunities for youth and adults and are actively hiring.

  3. Goddard Riverside: Goddard Riverside is an organization that provides early childhood education, volunteer opportunity, employment training for youth and adults, youth center, after school resources, community events and ways to support. They also have support and resources for housing services for mental health, meals, and financial planning.

  4. Association to Benefit Children (ABC) Cassidy Pl: I was fortunate for 2 of my daughters to receive psychological evaluations, support, and school placement at ABC Cassidy for Early Intervention and CPSE (Committee on Preschool Special Education) services. They also have a variety of services in several settings throughout Manhattan which can be found on their website.
